Devon based Doug Pratt Tree Consultancy provides specialist arboricultural advice for clients ranging from land owners, developers, architects, professionals from both public and private sectors, and domestic tree owners.

Originating from Devon, Doug has worked in the tree industry throughout the UK since graduating with an Honours Degree in Forestry from the University of Aberdeen.

With over 16 year’s experience working at professional level arboriculture, 12 of which as a Local Planning Authority Tree Officer in both planning/tree preservation and tree management arenas in both urban and rural contexts, Doug maintains a continuing professional development record and is a Fellow of the Arboricultural Association. Doug has previously managed the trees of Battersea Park and worked as Tree Preservation Officer for Islington Borough Council, before returning to  Devon in 2003 to work for 5 years as Senior Arboricultural Officer with Teignbridge District Council. Since 2009 Doug has established a leading reputation as private tree consultant for the west country.

He is fully conversant with the requirements of BS5837:2012 (Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction – Recommendations, as often referred by Local Planning Authorities as the standard to which tree reports are expected.)
